In spring 2022, I wrote a screenplay for Konrad Gründler’s legend about the haunted boatwoman from Groß Neundorf. Together with young people from the Oderbruch region, we made our horror film during the Easter holidays! It is the debut of my series HORROR IM ODERBRUCH ,where I use regional legends and tales as inspiration for short films to teach young people about filmmaking with the help of the horror film medium.
This is the third edition of our biennial Festival UMRANGIERT at Klasdorf Station and I am sitting behind the mixing pult again. Here they are, the CARAMEL SONS. A Paris based Singer/Songwriter Duo who produced their second album AGAIN in the sugar-roof studio in Paris, which is actually their own flat in the 8th floor of a historical building. I did the mastering for this gem and trying to embrace that 70s Folk-Vintage-Vibe while maintaining modern dynamics and loudness. An ending is also a beginning. We have relocated our festival from Hiddensee to Klasdorf Station. It will now take place there every two years. New features include the timing from Wednesday to Sunday during the summer holidays in Berlin and Brandenburg, and additional workshops alongside the concerts. You never know in advance when something will take place for the last time. Unfortunately, this year’s festival was the last one on the island of Hiddensee. As FOH Engineer I was part of the festival team since 2010 and had a wonderful time working with those fantastic musicians! I also joined the festival two times myself, performing my own compositions back in 2015 and 2016. Price increases, logistics, and the loss of funding have made it impossible for us to continue holding the festival on the island. But it’s not all over! Starting next year, we will be moving to Klasdorf, and the festival will be renamed UMRANGIERT.
